I remember . . .
Going to "frifties" for ice cream when we lived in the Walker house. You mowing the Walker house lawn with a push mower and piling the grass so I could make houses for my seven dwarf dolls.
You bringing home the big cardboard boxes in the station wagon for forts.
Riding bikes to Rose's house - downhill was best!
Putting up old silver when Mom was getting her hair done.
You wearing the cushy head phones sitting in the recliner in the family room.
Playing tether ball in the back yard.
My driving lessons in the Tornado.
Thinking I could never return your bullet serve.
Thinking you were the best skier and had THE longest skies ever.
The back flip lessons on the diving board.
Wondering how it was possible for a guy to snore that loud.
Building the grandfather clock.
Neil Diamond music at the cabin.
You and Uncle Kenny after the bat upstairs at the cabin. Watching from the patio in the dark.
You itching your nose with your mustache.
Taking the golf clubs on our trip to June Lake . . . just in case.
Luci and my lesson in the driveway on how to put on and take off chains, before our solo June Lake trip . . .
So many great memories of such a great dad. And so much to look forward to. I wish we could have come down this weekend. But I'm glad the Riddles are coming to town. That should be quite a shindig of a BBQ!
Happy Fathers Day, Dad! We hope you like the cookies. I love you :)
